On 6 March 2023 the Registered Organisations Commission (ROC) was abolished and the regulatory powers and functions of the Registered Organisations Commissioner transferred to the General Manager of the Fair Work Commission (the Commission).
This does not change the ongoing compliance obligations of registered organisations under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
The staff of the ROC have transferred to the Fair Work Commission and will continue to perform their current functions.
Ongoing investigations and inquiries
Ongoing inquiries, investigations and proceedings will be transferred to the General Manager of the Fair Work Commission.
Conduct that occurred prior to the transfer of the functions of the ROC could be subject to a potential inquiry, investigation or proceeding by the General Manager of the Fair Work Commission.
